Sebelumnya, Pemerintah Aceh mencabut izin usaha perkebunan budidaya untuk PT Kalista Alam seluas 1.605 hektar di Rawa Tripa, Nagan Raya, pada 27 September 2012. Pencabutan izin tersebut sebagai tindak lanjut atas putusan Pengadilan Tinggi Tata Usaha Negara Medan sebulan sebelumnya, yang meminta Gubernur Aceh mencabut surat izin Gubernur Aceh Nomor 525/BP2T/5322/2011 itu. Surat izin itu dikeluarkan oleh Gubernur Aceh terdahulu, Irwandi Yusuf, pada Agustus 2011.
