Corrections, right of reply and removal
Updated
If something about you or your organisation is wrong, out of date or unfair, tell us. We would rather correct an entry than defend a mistake.
How to submit
Fill in the form below. The Report link on every entry or connection brings you here with that entry already filled in. Say what is wrong, and include supporting documents or links.
You can also email koreksi@benmer.wiki, for example to attach documents. The form does not store your IP address, only an encoded code that changes every day, to limit reports to at most five a day from one address. The details are on the Privacy page.
What we will do
| Request | Target time |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | 2 working days |
| Answer to a request for correction or right of reply | 7 days |
| Change at the request of a source's publisher | 7 days |
While a credible complaint about accuracy is under review, the entry may be hidden temporarily. Every change made because of an error is recorded in the Corrections log with its reason.
Right of reply
Anyone named in an allegation can send a response. We will add a fair summary of that response beside the allegation.
Removal
We remove entries that are wrong, that concern ordinary citizens with no public role, that reveal personal information, or that concern a verdict that has been overturned where showing it no longer serves the public interest.
We may decline to remove accurate, sourced information about public office or court proceedings, and will explain why.
Requests from a source's publisher
If your work is cited here and you want the way it is cited changed, a quote or link removed, or your work no longer cited, email us from your newsroom's address. If a removal leaves a connection without a source, we will cite another source or remove the connection.
Legal notices
Court orders and formal legal notices can be sent to the same address. Name the entry concerned and the grounds for the notice.
